Even More TC: 2nd Manassas Screens

SCREENSHOTS FEATURE posted on 15 FEB 2006 by Sean Drummy

Some more high resolution shots for this real time civil war title.

Madminute Games has leaked out some additional screenshots detailing large scale battles and the fantastic looking high resolution units they've been working on for Take Command: 2nd Manassas. (preview) Take Command: 2nd Manassas is the sequel to Mad Minute's highly popular original real time startegy Civil War game, Civil War: The Battle of Bull Run.

This next incarnation of the Take Command series will not disappoint the Civil War buff with either graphics or gameplay. With a redone morale and command system, players can micromanage each unit or just let the AI do most of the tedious work and everything in between. In addition, 2nd Manassas will offer massive scale battles taking place over miles and miles where the play can test his prowess at multitasking (just in case 3 kids, a full-time job, and a wargaming addiction wasn't enough).

Here's some additional aspects of Take Command: 2nd Manassas:

  • Real-time tactical combat with a 10:1 soldier to sprite ratio.
  • 3D terrain & 3Dsound
  • Tactical grading system that evaluates and grades a player’s performance during combat.
  • Courier message system for receiving orders and communicating with AI controlled superior leaders.
  • AI leader’s attributes & personality affect tactical tendencies and strategic movements.
  • Units run out of ammunition.
  • Ammo/Ordinance wagons re-supply units on the field.
  • Player only controls troops directly below his command…all other troops are controlled by AI and carry out their part of the fight without input from player. Throughout the day’s battle, the AI gives the player various orders that the player must carry out.
  • Manage your unit’s morale, fatigue, supply, training & health.
  • Historically accurate state & national flags
  • Accurate ballistics modeling of muskets, rifles, and cannons.
  • Cannons use four types of ammunition that have different visual affects…. Shrapnel- air bursts, Shell- ground bursts, Solid- ground hit, & Canister- multiple ground hits.
